The monk Tenzin Gyatso is the highest worldly authority of Tibetan Buddhism and is considered to be the recurring reincarnation of the divine Bodhisattva Avalokitesvaras. He is the religious and political leader for Tibetans and recognised worldwide as a spiritual role model.
